Interactive Learning Module

Integrating different instructional media into a learning experience

Context:

This project was completed as part of the Digital Skills for Learning Designers course. The aim of the course was to hone proficiency and ability to navigate digital tools that aids the development of digital learning experiences. In this individual project, we were tasked to create an interactive learning module using a platform of our choice. I decided to developed mine using Rise by Articulate.

Basic Content

The intended target audience for the course is anyone who is interested in learning about user stories and job stories. In developing the content, I foresee the module as being part of a design thinking course whose goal is to help learners understand basic concepts of design and how to apply them in real life.

Text

As it currently stands, the design is intended to live in an online learning platform. Thus, it relies heavily on text to convey its materials.

Audio + Video

The use of multimedia is intended to accentuate the course, providing visual aid and equitable access if need be. Although it is not illustrated on the right, certain parts of the lesson have audio options.

Interactivity

There are two ways in which interactive elements are used in the learning module: the first as a way to chunk the information, the second in the form of quizzes and assessments. All in all, the goal is to lessen participant’s cognitive load and increase engagement throughout the course.
